HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE)- POLICY The policy of Al Sumri is to provide a safe place to work for all its employees by taking such reasonable steps as necessary to eliminate hazards to health and potential causes of foreseeable accidents.
A policy of participation will be pursued on matters related to Health, Safety and environmental protection at work, the aim being to create a continually improving awareness of the reduction in the incidence of accidents and potential hazards of health. Al Sumri Management will:

  • Provide and maintain safe and healthy working environment, for its staff and other persons whom its activities effect.
  • Provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision to enable employees to perform their work safely and efficiently.
  • Provide safety devices and protective equipment and clothing and ensure their use.
  • Provide a system of joint consultation to promote safe system of work.
  • Promote a continuing interest of healthy, safety and environmental matters applicable to the company’s activities and operations.
  • Co- operate with local and national safety regulatory agencies in a manner that will not only comply with,but enhance development of more effective work safety practices.
  • Enusre the protection and safe operation of all plant equipment.
  • Ensure the philosophy statement that every job can be done safely and that safety is everyone’s responsibilty.
  • Comply fully with the laws and status of the Sultanate of Oman. Furthermore, employees have a duty to co-operate in the aforementioned by:
    1. Working safely and efficiently considering the safety of others, also reporting to their line management or Transport Managers and HSE advisors, incidents which may lead to injury or damage.
    2. Adhering to company procedure for securing a safe workplace with practical minimum risk of injury to personnel, breakdown or fires.
    3. Co-operating in safety exercises, meeting and consutation as required.
    4. Assisting in the investigation of accidents with the aim of introducing measures to prevent recurence.
